Better than Blessed

Happy Holidays! Merry Christmas to each and every one of you out there in bloggerville! I was leaving the mall in bumper to bumper traffic, with folks running around giving the bone, cursing out of the window because they can't get where they wanna get fast enough. DeMarius & I were singing to whatever song was playing on the radio and me with my ADD brain just kinda spaced out. I started thinking about this Holiday season compared to Holiday seasons before. I just started thanking the Lord for blessing us so abundantly. I began praying for my friends & family and speaking continued blessings into existence. Some years back, an ex-boyfriend stole my car and all my money right before Christmas. I lost my job and had $6 in change to my name. I asked someone to take me to the Dollar Store & I bought my son 5 $1 gifts. I didn't even have the money for wrapping paper. When he woke up on Christmas he was tickled pink and so proud of his gifts! I thought this was a horrible Christmas because I couldn't do much. We've even had to add his name to the Angel Tree because I didn't have the money to buy any gifts. This year, we have been able to pay bills, buy gifts for everybody and still have enough left over. We have food. Not just food that we received by signing up for a Charity box, but food that we went to the store and chose ourselves and paid for out of our pockets. I am abundantly blessed. I have a wonderful family. My mama ROCKS! My son is such a good kid. His grades are perfect & he's so mature for 9 years old. My boyfriend puts me 3rd :o)... (God, DeMarius, ME!) I have had such an wonderful blessings come my way and I've prayed over them. I did what was needed of me and it's coming back to me full circle. Thank you Lord! 2008 has been great. I can only imagine what 2009 will hold.

  1. That is so beautiful and exactly what it is all about. We have to learn to be thankful in whatever state we are in and to trust God for better days. Thankfully you did that and he has blessed you abundantly. Your blog made me think of the many things I have to be thankful for. I wish you, your son and your boyfriend a very happy and blessed holiday season.
